“Smartphones are getting premium and premium smartphones are getting better.”-MKBHD (Tech YouTuber)
Samsung’s display of advancing technology through their latest Galaxy lineup was worth a watch. The event was held in San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on 20th February, 2019. They unveiled a total of five new flagship phones: the most awaited Galaxy Fold and four variants of the S10. But just smartphones are never enough, so they also launched three wearables: the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Fit. Thus, creating a Samsung ecosystem to build your life around.
Samsung surely made an unforgettable celebration of their decade worth of Galaxy innovation with the new product lineup. The Galaxy Fold is a sneak peak into the faster, bolder and brighter future of mobile technology. Apart form the super fascinating Galaxy Fold, the Galaxy S10+ is more practical as a daily driver smartphone which packs in a massive 1TB storage and 12Gb RAM. It is a smartphone DSLR when it comes to camera capability and for the first time in smartphones, the S10+ supports depth effect in video mode.
“From expansive storage to advanced speeds, the (Galaxy) S10 is like having a super computer in your pocket,”Drew Blackard, Samsung Electronics America’s Senior Director of Product Marketing.
Samsung also launched the 5G version of the S10+ which will be hitting stores in India later this year. The S10 lineup was a big practicality punch by Samsung whereas on the other hand, they launched the Galaxy Fold which according to me was a complete blow on Samsung’s practicality plan. When the phone is folded, it shows how carelessly Samsung ignored the screen to body ratio. The front is more bezels than screen.
However, the criticism ends when the phone opens into a tablet. Great job, Samsung! The display is a charm and does not compromise on quality. Neither does it feel like a developing technology that it actually is.
Apart from the gadgets, the event itself was a total show of what the 21st century techno world has become. No presentation is boring when it is shown on a 6-screen setup. So to conclude, the Samsung Unpacked 2019 was a great show put up to celebrate a decade of Galaxy smartphones. The 2019 Samsung lineup has set the path for another decade of the Galaxy.
What do you think, will you buy the Galaxy S10? If yes, then which one?
